ALTOONA, Wis. (WEAU) — Menu options are expanding for a local school district.
Altoona School District is completely renovating their school lunch menu this year.
The school district is partnering with Taher, which is chef-based food service management company, that will provide a chef onsite two days a week.
Principal Jason LeMay says 80% of the food is made fresh each day and will feature a fruit, vegetable, and spice of the month.
He says the students were the reason behind the menu change.
LeMay said, “We had done a survey last year asking what things they’d like to see change with the school, things that were working well, things that weren’t working well and across the district one thing they came up with was kids were not happy with the school lunch.”
LeMay says the price of school lunches will stay the same as last year.
